Building a Capsule Wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe consists of pieces that you can wear any season by mixing them up with statement or on-trend pieces that are season-based. In our first blogpost we will go over some of the pieces that you will need to get started on building a capsule wardrobe for you.

Let’s get started with the 12 necessities that every woman should have in her closet to build her capsule wardrobe. These are all pieces that are worth investing in, as they will continue to stay a part of your basic wardrobe. With that said, don’t be afraid to spend a little extra on some of these pieces. The better the items are in quality, the longer that they will last you. Building your capsule wardrobe is not about how many pieces you can buy, it is about having versatile staples that you can build on.

Tops:

-Basic white t-shirt that you can wear season to season, with almost anything.

-Neutral colour knit sweater that can also be layered.

-White button down blouse

-Classic tailored black blazer

-Denim jacket

Bottoms:

-Straight leg pair of jeans in a dark wash

-Black bottoms that can be dressed up or down

-Fitted trouser

-Knee to midi length skirt in a solid colour

– A little black dress fit for any occasion

Shoes:

-A dressy flat with good arch support

-Classic pump

-Fashion bootie

Once you have built your capsule wardrobe and you have pieces that you feel confident in, you can then add in statement pieces. Statement pieces can be the same items in seasonal colours, or even on trend items to mix up your look. Starting with the basics means that no matter what the occasion is, you will always have core style selections to choose from.
